Services for Individuals with Disabilities
Enabling those with disabilities to more fully participate in the community is an ongoing goal of the Golisano Foundation. In 2004, the Golisano Foundation supported a variety of programs for individuals with disabilities to ensure active involvement, greater independence and increased productivity, programs that support legal and educational advocacy, expand employment opportunities, offer housing options and support services, organize and expand summer camps and recreation as well as planning services for older individuals with disabilities and their aging caregivers. With steadfast and stable support from the Golisano Foundation, dedicated agency staff worked hand-in-hand with determined and courageous clients and their families to overcome obstacles that prevent them from fully participating in all aspects of our community.

Senior Support Services
In 2004, the Golisano Foundation supported programs that provided support and comfort to the sick and terminally ill, and offered education and training services to families to help seniors remain independent in their homes.
Alzheimer's Association
$10,000 for the Hallway of Hope, Alzheimer support services and education
Mount Carmel House Inc.
$5,000 for roof replacement on hospice house
Community Development and Prevention Services
Various types of programs are necessary in order to nurture and build strong communities. Learning takes many forms, from traditional institutes of higher education to community-based programs that teach prevention and life skills. Last year, the Golisano Foundation supported the following programs in an effort to increase training opportunities for local non-profit agencies as well as assist young people make positive choices leading to productive lives.

$10,000 for community and school-based mentoring program for at-risk youth
Center for Youth
$10,000 for transitional living program for homeless and runaway youth
Institute for Social Entrepreneurship
$133,375 to support the Institute for Social Entrepreneurship, training and community development services
