December 31, 2009 – The year ended on a very high note at the Golisano Foundation. Our founder, Tom Golisano, donated $10.2 million to the foundation assuring continued support for programs and services for people with intellectual disabilities. Coming at a time when the economic conditions are a bit uncertain, this gift renews Tom’s commitment to a cause that is very close to his heart – making a difference in the lives of people with disabilities. Program Helps Young Adults with Developmental Disabilities Transition to Work World
November 20, 2009 – John Dasfais wants a job. The 21-year-old Spencerport student, who has a developmental disability, wants to earn a paycheck and, hopefully, move out on his own. And he’s on the road to doing that through a new program called Project SEARCH at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Read more
Tom Golisano Donates $4 Million to Ave Maria University for New Field House
November 5, 2009 – Ave Maria University Chancellor, Thomas S. Monaghan, announced today that AMU has received a four million dollar donation from B. Thomas Golisano to fund the construction of the University’s first indoor athletic facility, the Tom Golisano Field House. Read more
Tom Golisano Donates $10.2 Million to His Foundation
November 3, 2009 – Ann Costello, Director of the Golisano Foundation, announced today the receipt of the Foundation’s largest gift, $10.2 million given by founder Tom Golisano. This gift is also the largest Golisano has made to any organization since 2002, when he donated $14 million to Golisano Children’s Hospital at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Read more
Tom Golisano Gives $6 Million to Build New Upstate Golisano Chidren's Hospital
Upstate Medical University – September 11, 2009 – A new era in pediatric medicine begins this fall with the opening of the Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital, which was dedicated this week. The two-story, 71-bed children’s hospital crowns the top of University Hospital’s new $150 million East Tower addition. University Hospital is part of SUNY Upstate Medical University. Read more
Rochester General Hospital Dedicates New Golisano Pavilion and Emergency Center
September 9, 2009 – Rochester General Hospital physicians, staff and board members joined B. Thomas Golisano on Wednesday September 16th, to celebrate the dedication of the new B. Thomas Golisano Pavilion and Emergency Center. The Pavilion, which will house state-of-the-art treatment areas for emergency medicine and the nationally recognized Rochester Heart Institute, is a centerpiece of Rochester General’s $55 million Master Facility Plan. Mr. Golisano, founder and Chairman of Paychex, donated $9 million to help fund the new facility. Read more

July 17, 2009 – The Institute for Innovation Transition, a collaboration of the Golisano Foundation and the University of Rochester, will present a one-day conference July 30 on higher education opportunities for students with developmental disabilities.
The Key of G Rochester Film Premieres
April 22, 2009 – The Institute for Innovation Transition, a collaboration of the Golisano Foundation and the University of Rochester, will showcase The Key of G, an award-winning documentary about disability, caregiving, and interdependence and a disabled man's transition into adulthood.
NYS Institute for Health Transition Training Launches New Web Site
March 3, 2009 – Be sure to explore this new Web site, an interactive curriculum and toolkit for youth with developmental disabilities ages 14-25 years, family caregivers, and health care providers. The site was developed in partnership by Golisano Children's Hospital at Upstate, Upstate Medical University and NYS Developmental Disabilities Planning Council (DDPC). It seeks to raise awareness for developmental disabilities, improve communication, and build effective partnerships during the transition from pediatric to adult health care. Read more
