Take the Pledge and Spread the Word to End the Word!

RespectThe word retarded, the R-word, IGNORES INDIVIDUALITY. The R-word spreads HURT. The R-Word is OFFENSIVE. Wednesday, March 7, 2012 is the annual day of activation to "End the Use of the R-Word." Once again, the Golisano Foundation is asking you to help "Spread the Word to End the R-Word" in the Finger Lakes area.

  • Please invite your friends and colleagues to Take the Pledge to stop the hurtful use of the "R-word."
  • Watch and listen for Tom Golisano's TV commercials during the next few weeks asking the public to join this effort and help make Rochester #1 in the nation to end the use of the R-word!
  • Visit and take the pledge. It only takes a minute of your time, it doesn't cost anything and we know that the collective impact can make a difference.
  • We are very interested in knowing what you're planning to do! There are lots of good ideas on the r-word website to help you get started. Just click on 'Get the Toolkit' to find event ideas, talking points, a viral email template, youth rally how-to-kits and much more.
