Take the Pledge and Spread the Word to End the Word!

RespectThe word retarded, the R-word, IGNORES INDIVIDUALITY. The R-word spreads HURT. The R-Word is OFFENSIVE. Wednesday, March 7, 2012 is the annual day of activation to "End the Use of the R-Word." Once again, the Golisano Foundation is asking you to help "Spread the Word to End the R-Word" in the Finger Lakes area.

Please go to www.r-word.org to make a pledge, and to get information and resources on how to Spread the word to end the word! in your school, business or organization. Tell Us about Your Pledge Activities! We'd like to recognize what your organization is doing to spread the word to end the word.   • Please invite your friends and colleagues to Take the Pledge to stop the hurtful use of the "R-word."
  • Watch and listen for Tom Golisano's TV commercials during the next few weeks asking the public to join this effort and help make Rochester #1 in the nation to end the use of the R-word!
  • Visit www.r-word.org and take the pledge. It only takes a minute of your time, it doesn't cost anything and we know that the collective impact can make a difference.
  • We are very interested in knowing what you're planning to do! There are lots of good ideas on the r-word website to help you get started. Just click on 'Get the Toolkit' to find event ideas, talking points, a viral email template, youth rally how-to-kits and much more. Please email us to share how you are spreading the work in your organization so we can recognize your organization on our website.
